Thanks to the goodwill of local people we were able to make savings in the project cost of around £9,000. Kevan and Owen Borlase have kindly agreed to help Taylors with all the work at the church, local removal firm Cyril Worth & Son generously offered to transport the bells to and from Loughborough and a host of others have offered to strip and repaint the bell frame.
We are still short of funds, in fact we are perpetually short of about £3,000, because every new donation results in the thought “Oh, we can afford to do such and such now”. Once the project is complete, I am confident we will have raised the right amount of money.
